Injurymap is an app-based solution for people who suffer from pain and injuries in their muscles and joints. So-called musculoskeletal disorders are extremely common and range across many different ailments from osteoarthritis to tennis elbows to sprained ankles. Common to the treatment of all musculoskeletal disorders is the need for rehabilitative exercises that strengthen the damaged tissue and help the body recover.

This treatment would normally require physiotherapy, which can be both costly and time-consuming. Injurymap empowers its users to safely and effectively rehabilitate their injuries without a physiotherapist. The app is designed around user-feedback to automatically select medically approved exercises that suit the rehabilitative needs of each individual user.

Let Injurymap guide you

All of us risk sustaining injuries to our muscles and joints when we engage in normal day-to-day activities like work or sports, or simply from the wear and tear on the body that occurs naturally as we age. Most of us will suffer from a musculoskeletal injury at some point in our lives, and when it happens the path to recovery can often feel more like a complex and winding maze than a straight road. Some common questions include:

One way to answer these questions is to consult a professional physiotherapist who can facilitate the rehabilitation process. Unfortunately, this option creates new problems for many people, either because they live too far away from the nearest physiotherapist or because they do not have the necessary time and money to spend on physiotherapy. As a result, many people suffering from musculoskeletal injuries are unable to get proper treatment.

Injurymap is our solution to this problem. We provide our users with a sophisticated, yet easy-to-use tool that enables them to combat pain and treat their musculoskeletal injuries even without a professional physiotherapist. Simply put, Injurymap offers the benefits of traditional physiotherapy at a much lower cost and with much greater flexibility.

Injurymap acts as a guide to effective rehabilitation by providing the user with a library of medically approved exercises. The app intelligently handles user feedback to scale the difficulty of the exercises throughout the rehabilitation period. The intelligent nature of the app also ensures that healing and rehabilitation progress smoothly and minimizes the risk of accidentally aggravating existing injuries.

Injurymap empowers its users to rehabilitate their injuries whenever and wherever they want while cutting down on time and money spent on traditional physiotherapy.

On a larger scale, our aim is to offer a solution that both challenges and improves the existing medical paradigm when it comes to treating musculoskeletal injuries. Pain caused by musculoskeletal injuries is currently one of the largest economic challenges facing the Danish public health sector:

One major factor that contributes to the high public spending is the nature of the current treatment paradigm. Treating a musculoskeletal injury is a complex process and effective rehabilitation typically requires the patient to follow an extensive training program for several months on end. In almost every case, a patient that suffers from musculoskeletal pain will therefore be referred to a professional physiotherapist who can facilitate the rehabilitation process by guiding the patient through medically approved exercises and training programs.

However, this treatment paradigm has critical drawbacks. Consulting a physiotherapist can be both costly and time-consuming for the patient, and studies show that only a small minority of patients manage to uphold the necessary training schedule planned by their physiotherapist. This severely impacts the effectiveness of the rehabilitation process and results in lower life quality for the patient as well as large amounts of public resources being wasted on sub-optimal treatments. The app-based format means that Injurymap improves the existing treatment paradigm on several critical issues:

Pricing: the app offers medically approved rehabilitation exercises and intelligent training programs at a much lower price point than traditional physiotherapy.

Flexibility: the app allows users to flexibly exercise whenever and wherever they want, which removes the hassle of scheduling and spending time and money on transportation to the nearest physiotherapist.

Digital: the digital format of the app overcomes the problem caused by users/patients living too far away from the nearest physiotherapist. Users can train anywhere they want as long as they are connected to the internet.

We believe that the advantages afforded by Injurymap are not unique to the Danish public health sector, but that the app can help improve the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries across countries. Injurymap is CE marked and conforms to the health and safety protection standards set by the European Union. This makes Injurymap a highly viable product for localization across the European Union to be used by health professionals in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.

Injurymap means shorter recovery for everyone, everywhere.
